Hello and welcome! I’m Danielle, the heart and soul behind Feathered Heart Doula. I’m a mother of two incredible children - my greatest treasures - and I’ve carried the dream of motherhood in my heart since I was 11 years old. Despite facing challenges with fertility, including the loss of two babies, I never lost hope. After seven years of treatments, my dream finally came true, deepening my passion and empathy for every birth journey.
Over my 39 years, I’ve been honored to witness and support births, each one a sacred, transformative experience. Becoming a doula felt like I was finally aligning with my purpose - a calling that fills me with joy and a deep desire to nurture, empower, and walk alongside families during one of life’s most profound moments.
My husband and I love raising our “free-range” children, embracing adventure and the beauty of nature. When I’m not out supporting births, you’ll likely find me by the river in a hammock with a good book, rockhounding, hiking, camping, fishing - anything that grounds me in the beauty of the natural world.
I believe birth is sacred and should be your story - created in a way that feels right for you. Together, we’ll honor your unique journey and welcome new life with strength and love. Let’s create something beautiful together.
I believe birth is a powerful, sacred journey - one that deserves to be held with both strength and softness. Every birthing person should feel seen, heard, and supported as they bring life into the world. My role as a doula is not to direct your birth, but to walk alongside you with compassion, calm, and evidence-based care.
I trust the innate wisdom of your body and honor your choices, whether you're planning a hospital birth, home birth with a licensed midwife, or a birth center. I offer grounding support, gentle guidance, and advocacy so you can feel informed and empowered every step of the way.
I am a DONA International trained birth doula, having completed comprehensive, evidence-based training in physical, emotional, and informational support for laboring individuals and their families. My training through DONA - the world’s leading doula organization - has equipped me with the tools to provide compassionate, non-clinical care throughout pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum. I continue to stay informed on best practices and updates in maternal care to ensure the families I support feel empowered, respected, and well-prepared.
